Oakleigh Montessori was created with one clear intention: to offer a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn at their own pace, develop confidence, and feel deeply respected. We believe early childhood is a sacred time and that every child deserves the space to grow into who they’re meant to be.
Our school combines authentic Montessori education with the comfort of a boutique-sized community. From our thoughtfully prepared classrooms to our emphasis on outdoor exploration, everything we do is designed to support the whole child; academically, emotionally, socially, and practically.
About Us
A Welcome from Our Founder
As a mother of three young children each of whom attended Montessori before starting elementary school, I’ve seen firsthand how transformative this approach can be. It builds independence, confidence, and a natural love of learning that stays with them for life.
After 16 years in medical equipment sales, I felt called to create something meaningful in my own community. Oakleigh Montessori is the kind of place I always wanted for my children - peaceful, intentional, and deeply respectful of the unique gifts each child brings.

Meet the Team
At Oakleigh Montessori, our team is made up of individuals who genuinely care about what they do. From leadership to the classroom, each person plays an important role in creating a consistent and thoughtful experience for both children and families.
Our educators, Nancy, Traija, and Deidre, are all MACTE trained and bring a deep understanding of the Montessori philosophy into the classroom each day. Nancy and Traija lead our Casa and Toddler environments, while Deidre works alongside Traija in the Toddler classroom, supporting the children and helping maintain a calm, prepared environment where independence and confidence can flourish.
Sandra, our Head Administrator, oversees the day to day operations of Oakleigh and brings a wealth of experience to her role, ensuring everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes.
Oakleigh Montessori was founded by Meghan McKee, who remains actively involved in the school's vision, leadership, and overall direction. Meghan is regularly present within the school and works closely with the team, ensuring that every detail, both seen and unseen, comes together to create a thoughtful and complete experience for our families.
Together, we have created a space where children feel comfortable, supported, and confident to grow at their own pace. Through strong relationships, thoughtful guidance, and a commitment to authentic Montessori principles, our team works each day to foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
Looking Ahead
Oakleigh Montessori’s vision is long-term. We’re committed to becoming Montessori Canada Accredited in the next year ahead, and we’re already planning for future growth, whether through a larger space or a second location. Our goal is to remain true to our values: small, personal, and focused on quality.
